Sébastien Aubert studied at the University of Geneva where he obtained a Bachelor of Law (2016), a Master of Law (2018), a Certificate of Transnational Law (2018) and a Certificate of specialization in legal matters (2019). After completing his lawyer traineeship in the litigation department of the law firm Bär & Karrer, he was admitted to the Bar of the Canton of Geneva (2021).
During his studies, Sébastien Aubert completed a summer internship at the Zurich-based law firm Pestalozzi and an academic internship at the University of Geneva. He also worked as a legal trainee at Nexthink, a unicorn company based in Lausanne.
He joined the Digital Law Center in June 2021 as a research and teaching assistant for Professors Yaniv Benhamou and Jacques de Werra. In parallel to this activity, he is currently writing his doctoral thesis. His research interests focus primarily on data protection and privacy, cybersecurity and criminal law.
